Cosmetic Bonding
Traditionally, fillings are performed using silver amalgam. While very effective at repairing damaged teeth, silver fillings are far from being the most aesthetically pleasing solution. There is, however, an alternative in the form of composite fillings. Composite fillings are very reliable, often lasting between 5-10 years. They are made of acrylic resin, reinforced with silica, glass quartz and other ceramic substances. Most importantly, composite fillings are almost indistinguishable from the natural colour of teeth. To treat small chips, cracks, or the wearing down of teeth, we use these composite fillings to repair them. Composite fillings fix the damage and improve your smile in the process.
Gum Contouring
Many people find that their gums rest in the wrong position on their teeth. Even with otherwise perfect teeth, misshapen gums can ruin your smile. Furthermore, gums that have receded too far can cause damage to overexposed teeth. Gum contouring is a procedure whereby the shape of the gums is altered to be more esthetically pleasing. This process can completely transform your uneven gums and give you that winning smile.
Teeth Whitening
For smiles that have lost their sparkle, we offer the very best in teeth whitening treatment. Teeth whitening is available both in-office and at home, using custom take-home trays. Teeth whitening treatment is a relatively simple process that takes several months. On your first visit, an impression of your teeth will be taken to create custom trays.
You will then be provided with a bleaching gel and taught how to use it. When using your trays, you should apply the gel regularly for 2 to 4 weeks. Teeth whitening won’t make teeth brilliant white, but you should see your teeth getting noticeably brighter.
Porcelain Onlays
While crowns cover your entire tooth, onlays are custom-made fillings designed to cover only the top portion of the tooth. Commonly referred to as partial crowns, onlays are typically used to rebuild damaged teeth or replace unsightly metal fillings. Porcelain onlays will be colour matched specifically to your teeth and help create a healthier-looking smile. The treatment is a very similar process to getting crowns fitted and will require two visits to the clinic.
